Dart counter

Stop keeping score. Throw.

Dartile is the dart counter for the club, the cellar and the league: ten game modes, the way to the double from 170, and statistics that keep every visit. The camera reads your darts off the board. Everything runs on the device — no account, no connection, no ads.

  • Ten game modes from 501 to Bob's 27, all free
  • Checkout suggestion from 170 left, right above the keypad
  • Average, heat map and doubles rate across every match
  • Camera: put it on a tripod, it scores the darts it is sure about
  • Find an opponent, and tournaments for four or eight players
  • Works offline. No account needed, except to play other people

Where it says „Coming to“, that store is still reviewing. Not the app: that is finished, including everything described on this page. The button links to the store as soon as it is available there.

Dartile in a match: score, remaining points and the tile keypad.

What it looks like

Screenshots from the app, not mock-ups. The score is large enough to read from two metres — which is where you stand when you throw.

  • The match screen with score and tile keypad.
  • The checkout suggestion above the keypad.
  • Statistics with average, heat map and history.
  • A running tournament with semi-final and final.

Eight game modes, all free

Every mode is calculated entirely on the device. No account, no connection, no paywall.

  • X01

    301 to 1001

From 501 down to zero, with or without double out. Starting score, sets and legs are set before the match.

  • Cricket

    15 to 20 and bull

Close the numbers and score while your opponent is still open. Cut-throat included.

  • Around the Clock

    1 to 20 in order

Hit every number once, from one up to twenty. The warm-up for the start of the evening.

  • Shanghai

    Seven rounds

One number per round. Hit single, double and triple in the same round and you win on the spot.

  • Halve It

    Miss and lose half

A fixed list of targets in order. Miss a round and half your score is gone.

  • Killer

    Three players and up

Everyone gets a number and a set of lives. Once you are a killer, you take lives off the others.

  • Bob's 27

    Doubles practice

All twenty doubles plus the bull, in order. Hits score, misses cost.

  • Checkout practice

    Finishing routes

A remaining score, three darts, the best route to it. Routes adapt to right or left hand and to your own preferences.

Why Dartile and not the next counter

  • Works without a connection

Every game mode is calculated on the device. In a club cellar without reception Dartile counts exactly as it does at home. No account required.

  • No ads, no tracking

No banner between two visits, no video before the finish, no advertising identifier. There is one version, and it is free.

  • Entry without looking

A visit is entered with three taps. The keys are at least 64 pixels and sit in the lower third of the screen so a thumb finds them while three darts are in the other hand. The number appears at once, the animation follows.

  • Statistics that say something

Three-dart average, first nine, checkout percentage, highest finish, doubles hit rate per number. Not just legs won, but the numbers that show where it goes wrong.

  • A camera that scores, and knows its limits

Put the phone on a tripod and the camera scores: what it recognises for sure it enters itself and calls out, with a change button next to it. What stays unsure it does not enter but asks about — better one question too many than one wrong score. Processing happens on the phone: no image leaves the device, none is stored.

  • Built for dim rooms

A dark interface, because a bright screen in a cellar blinds you and ruins the view of the board. The score is the largest element and readable from two metres.

The camera suggests, you decide

Tap four points on the board once, and from then on the app reads your darts. What it sees it does not enter, it puts in front of you, together with how sure it is. That is not modesty, it is the reason the whole thing stays usable: a single phone camera sees the board from one direction, and a dart close to the wire is not always clear from there. A counter that hides this writes its mistakes silently into your statistics.

  1. 01

    Set up once, four taps

Prop the phone up, tap the four given points on the board in the image, done. From that the app knows its view of the board. Put the phone back in the same holder tomorrow and the setup still holds.

  2. 02

    It scores, you keep throwing

What the app recognises for sure it enters itself, calls out and shows in large type — with a change button next to it while it is fresh. After the third dart it says „pull the darts“; once the board is clear and the picture is still, it carries on by itself.

  3. 03

    In doubt it asks

A dart close to the wire between single and treble is ambiguous from a single viewpoint. If confidence falls below the built-in threshold the app enters nothing and asks on the keypad instead. Better one question too many than one wrong score — the statistics are the reason people keep a scoring app.

  4. 04

The way back is always there

Manual entry stays reachable at every point, and the camera can be switched off. No game mode depends on it.

  5. 05

    Everything stays on the phone

Processing runs on the device. Frames live in memory and are discarded after evaluation. No image and no video is stored, sent to us or passed to anyone else. From the setup only the view of the board is saved, which is eight numbers.

Play against others, with one code

A six-digit code you read out, and you are both in the same match. All it takes is an account, nothing else.

  • Sign in without a password

You enter your e-mail address and receive a six-digit code. You type it in, and that is the sign-in. There is no password to forget or lose.

  • One code, two phones

One tap on „find an opponent“ and Dartile pairs you with someone who is looking right now. Prefer someone you know? Read out a six-digit code. And for a whole evening: tournaments for four or eight players, with a draw, semi-final and final.

  • A dropped connection is not a special case

What travels between the phones are the individual darts with a running number, not the score. Both sides work the score out themselves. If a number is missing it is fetched; if it arrives twice it counts once. Nobody has to decide which score is the real one.

Frequently asked questions

What does Dartile cost?

Nothing. Every game mode, the full statistics, camera scoring and playing against others over the internet are part of the app. There is nothing to buy inside it and no feature behind a barrier.

Does the camera score without me tapping anything?

Yes — but only what it recognises for sure. That dart goes into the match, is called out and shown in large type with a change button next to it. Below the confidence threshold it enters NOTHING and asks on the keypad instead. The reason for that limit: a single phone camera sees the board from one direction, and a dart close to the wire is not always clear from there. An app that hides this writes its mistakes silently into your statistics. The whole thing can be switched off in the settings.

How do I set the camera up?

Prop the phone up so the board is in frame, then tap four given points on the board in the image. From that the app knows its view of the board. The setup is saved, so it is enough for a rig that stays in place. If the phone moves, you tap the four points again.

Does the camera store or send images?

No. All processing happens on the phone. Frames stay in memory and are discarded after evaluation. No image and no video is stored, sent to us or passed to anyone else. From the setup only the view of the board is kept, which is eight numbers.

Can I revoke the camera permission?

At any time in your phone settings. The app remains fully usable with manual entry afterwards, no game mode is lost.

Do I need an account?

Not for anything that runs on the device. You can play from the first launch without signing in. An account is only needed once you want to play someone over the internet, because that cannot work without one. Signing in uses a six-digit code sent by e-mail; there is no password.

What happens without a connection?

Every game mode, the statistics and camera scoring keep working, because they are calculated on the device. Without a connection only playing against others is missing, because that needs a server. An interrupted match against another player continues as soon as the connection is back.

How do I play against someone else?

One of you opens the match and gets a six-digit code to read out or send. The other types it in. After that the same match is on both phones. What travels between them are the individual darts with a running number, not the score; if the connection drops, the missing darts are fetched. All it takes is an account.

Does Dartile show ads?

No. There is no ad network in the app and no advertising identifier.

What data is stored without an account?

Without an account your matches and statistics stay on the device. We receive none of it.

Who sees my name?

Only the person you play against over the internet, and only the display name you choose yourself. Deliberately pick something other than your real name if you would rather not be identified. The name can be changed at any time. Nobody gets to see your e-mail address.

How do I delete my account?

Through the form on this website under “Delete account” or by e-mail to dartile@domenicmoran.de. We confirm and delete within 30 days; usually it happens within 72 hours.

Which devices does Dartile run on?

iPhone and iPad from iOS 16, and Android phones from Android 8.

Which languages does Dartile speak?

German, English, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Spanish and French. The app follows your system language and can be switched in the settings.

Does Dartile replace the scorer at the club?

For counting, yes, and it will call out the remainder if you want it to. For a league match under the rules, what the referee or the official scorer writes down still applies.

The legal side, briefly

Camera scoring runs entirely on your phone. No image and no video is transmitted or stored. You only create an account if you want to play against others; for that we need your e-mail address and the name you give yourself. What exactly we process, and when, is set out in the privacy policy.
